Poem: Little Tommy Tucker

This little nonsense poem I started to write a while ago and thought that it started to sound like a primary school skipping rope chant, (or jump rope song). So I kept writing it with that in mind, I changed the pace part way through the poem and I made it a little bit naughty for children to enjoy.

You could imagine a big squeal when the chanters reach the end of the poem!

Little Tommy Tucker

Little Tommy Tucker,

Was a bad thumb sucker,

Kissed his girl friends fore head,

But didn’t want to…, go that far.

Farther than you think,

Fart and then you’ll stink,

Wash your dirty balls,

In the laundry sink.

Scrub your dirty boots as well

And rid them of the smell.

Don’t get caught by mum or dad,

Or they’ll kick your bum to hell.

Quick lickety-split or get a licking,

What was Little Tommy Tucker thinking?

Where did he come from slinking?

Why his bare backside stinking?

Chase him to the bathroom

Chase him past the loo,

Don’t look up the toilet walls,

You’ll see his painted poo.

Hose his dirty bum off,

then take him to the park.

Let him play chasey with the girls

And kiss them in the dark.

Scream in the darkness,

it’s darker than you think.

Last one back home tonight,

Has to clean the bathroom stink.
